Last weekend when I tried to fit the boys in pumpkin I was able to take one of the pumpkins and get it carved. I did this after dinner so Austin enjoyed watching me cut the pumpkin up. I used a stencil which was my first time doing so. It was actually kind of hard to do. Being able to trace it and hold it and the pumpkin moving you almost needed an extra set of hands to get it traced well. I kind of free handed part of it since it was just a mess anyways.
After I got it carved out I showed Austin and he loved it. I was able to find a couple of tea candle’s to put in it and took it out to the front porch. I have to say for the first time using a stencil and only the third time carving a pumpkin I think it turned out pretty well.
Next year I think Austin will be old enough to help carve out the pumpkin with me. That should be a lot of fun!!
